About SHCT
Integrated Learning Centre (ILC)
The Integrated Learning Centre (ILC) at each campus is a focal point for learning that brings together resources for information gathering and collaborative teaching and learning. Both campus ILCs provide library services designed to support the information needs of students, especially those learning in a second language. The library collections include print, electronic book and journal collections which are developed in collaboration with academic programs. The Online Learning Zone (OLZ) is an area where students can use e-learning to enhance their classroom-based instruction.

Collections
The library offers access to more than 300,000 print volumes in all HCT campus libraries throughout the system as well as access to print library resources at Zayed University and the UAE University. The print collection is enhanced by access to thousands of high quality electronic books and journals available 24/7 from any location with access to the internet.

Learning Zones
The ILCs technologically rich learning zones have been designed to meet the needs of students with different styles of learning. Students can find rooms for small group collaborative learning, as well as areas for individual study. Varied online resources are available for students to work independently on areas of academic interest and need.

Expert Assistance
The ILC team of librarians, library technicians and library assistants offer professional guidance to students to help them become independent learners and efficient information seekers. Librarians work closely with teachers to support research skills with instruction. Library technicians ensure that learning resources are easily accessible and that the ILC infrastructure is running smoothly. Library staff are user-centered, ready to help students and faculty in their day to day use of the ILC.
